GOD'S BANKERS: typset pages have arrived....

In the world of publishing, progress is slow and then suddenly there's a big leap forward. Today, I got the manuscript for God's Bankers - A History of Money and Power at the Vatican for the first time in typeset pages (720, made possible because a couple of hundred pages of source notes are in a small font). For those of you not familiar with traditional publishing, this is the 'first pass on pages,' the last opportunity to do serious editing and rewriting. The next stage will be bound galleys, at which point I'm only on the outlook for typos, grammatical errors and maybe a fact that got mangled in the rewriting.
