It's always unfortunately been about the money....
When Trisha Posner said to me today, "Well, some things don't change," I wasn't sure what she meant. Then she showed me an article in the Daily Telegraph about the failed effort of Edda Goring, the only daughter of the former top ranking Nazi leader, to win back family money the government had seized after the Third Reich led Germany to disaster in World War II. It's always been about the money when it comes to Edda. I met with her in 1990 when I was compiling interviews for Hitler's Children, my book that focused on the second generation of top Nazis and how they dealt with their father's infamy. In her apartment in Munich, during our first face to face, she asked for money before continuing. That ended our talks. I've never paid for an interview and never would. She was the only 'child' who asked to be compensated...
