Author Gerald Posner and KGB defector Yuri Nosenko

This very short video clip is me with KGB defector Yuri Nosenko back in 1993. It was part of an ABC 20/20 segment about my just published "CASE CLOSED: Lee Harvey Oswald and the Assassination of JFK."
I was the first journalist to interview Nosenko. He was the Soviet intelligence officer in charge of the KGB file on Lee Harvey Oswald when Oswald lived in Russia.
Nosenko's story - including the remarkable efforts by the CIA to break him during years of interrogations since they first mistakenly thought he was a double agent - is in Chapter 3, "The War of the Defectors" in "Case Closed."
Although Nosenko died in 2008, he is in the news again. Earlier today the National Archives released hundreds of new documents and materials related to the JFK assassination. Included were 17 audio files of the CIA 'interviews' with Nosenko. Listening to those tapes might be my only brief detour from my Big Pharma research....
